Introduction

The EVU Portugal takes over the mission of promoting free and open exchange of knowledge in research and reconstruction of road accidents, thus boosting the knowledge and development of this discipline. As a private nonprofit association, it is a forum for communication, education, and representation in this specific area of research in road accidents.

The main objective of the Association is the improvement of principles and methodologies in accident's investigation, particularly in areas such as evidence collection, product failure, and interdisciplinarity in the analysis of complex issues related to road accidents, thus a sustained improvement of the main factors of safety of road users and vehicles. This will require cooperation and development between areas such as scientific research, road safety and legal/medical issues. The initiatives in the field of education and training of its members, are followed by a technical scientific board.

The Association commits to promote, among its members, a professional practice oriented by high standards of ethics, integrity, honesty and technical competence.
